Surve Philanthropies

Survé Philanthropies is the private philanthropic initiative of Dr Survé and the Survé family. Dr Survé has created an endowment whereby 90% of the value of his investments in the Sekunjalo Group, including its profits and dividends, are provided for the benefit of numerous Survé Philanthropies foundations. The organisation supports and funds several different organisations under the following pillars: · Arts & Culture - organisations that empower and uplift communities through programmes that promote arts and culture and stimulate social cohesiveness. · Education - organisations that offer educational programmes, from early childhood development to tertiary level. · Environmental Sustainability - Supporting issues of climate change, relating to water, energy, recycling and food. · Human Rights & Social Justice - organisations involved with advocacy and education on issues such as gender-based violence, disability and women’s and children’s rights. · Youth Development - projects that broaden the horizons of youth from previously-disadvantaged communities. · Social Entrepreneurship - In partnership with community-based organisations, develops entrepreneurship through social impact investment. · Bursary – tertiary support for selected qualifying individual Additionally, funding for other projects is awarded on a case by case basis.
